Fairfax Library Foundation proudly hosted
A Platinum Jubilee!, celebrating 70
years of Fairfax County Public Library service! (1939-2009). More than $90,000 in net proceeds were raised via this unique celebration, co-chaired by Sally Merten and Sushma Shenoy-Saluja, will support Fairfax County Public Library programs & services!
Library lovers gathered for a jubilant reception featuring the lively George Mason University Jazz Ensemble led by Jim Carroll.
Mr. Toa Do joined representatives from the Vietnamese American Community, to remark about their support of the library in addition to setting an example through their Signature Guardian Sponsorship to others who have been granted a second chance in the United States.
Kate Hanley and Chap Petersen joined Chairman Sharon Bulova, John Foust, Cathy Hudgins, Jeff McKay, and Linda Smyth of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors for a Resolution to recognize 15 years of exceptional service of the Fairfax Library Foundation.
Diana Zavela led the group in song for a rendition of 'Happy Birthday to the Library!'
