Roberta A. Longworth is a Certified Fund Raising Executive and is the Executive Director of Fairfax Library Foundation. With active support from the Board of Directors, she encourages individuals, foundations, businesses and civic organizations to enhance the Library system with private funding.

Known by friends and colleagues as Bobbi, she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Widener University in 1997 in suburban Philadelphia. Various professional studies include distance learning from the Wharton School of Business.

After years of analytical positions including that in corporate tax compliance for Columbia Gas, Bobbi utilized volunteer experience planning events and fundraising for organizations such as March of Dimes, Toys for Tots and United Way to transition into a career in non-profit management in 1999.

Through the Library Foundation, Bobbi is a participant in the Nonprofit Roundtable of Greater Washington and an associate member of the Northern Virginia Technology Council. She is a scholarship recipient and active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Washington DC Metro Area Chapter. Bobbi is a 2003 graduate of the Leadership Fairfax signature program and chairs the Northern Virginia Leadership Awards Gala Auction Committee.

Volunteerism is important to Bobbi, a Board Director and a gala coordinator for the Shelley A. Marshall Foundation. She is also an ambassador for Operation Interdependence, a civilian to military delivery system that supports deployed U.S. troops.

Bobbi is focused on her primary interest through her work at the Fairfax Library Foundation, the importance of making quality and well rounded educational opportunities available to everyone throughout our community
