Stephanie Abbott
Stephanie Y. Abbott is the Hunter Mill District Trustee of the Fairfax County Public Library Board. Hunter Mill Supervisor Catherine Hudgins appointed her to the Board in 2000. Stephanie was chosen by the Board Members to be the Chairperson for 2004-2005 and 2005-2006. She now serves as the representative to the Foundation Board from the Library Board of Trustees.
Stephanie is retired from Abbott Financial Services. For twenty-one years she worked with business owners and individuals to design insurance and retirement plans. She earned the Chartered Life Underwriter designation in 1997. Stephanie is a former board member of the Northern Virginia Association of Insurance and Financial Professionals. She earned her B.A. from Bates College and her M.A. from the State University of Potsdam, NY. Both degrees are in Spanish language and literature.
Stephanie lives in Reston with her husband, Ed. They have 2 grown sons and 4 wonderful grandchildren.
